NJ I-278 Accidents
Motor vehicle accidents are not uncommon on I-278. The common types of traffic occurring on the freeway are head-on collisions, rear-end collisions, side collisions, rollover accidents, and jackknifing. The common causes of Highway 278 accidents are drunk driving, speeding, driver fatigue, reckless driving, and distracted driving. For the past 10 years, the state of NJ has spent roughly 5% of its capital transportation budget on expanding roads. While the roadway capacity has increased, traffic accidents still happen often in NJ, and among the causes is the poor condition of NJ roadways.
When an accident occurs on any part of NJ I-278, it’s important for victims to look around for people who may have witnessed the collision and write down the witnesses’ names, contact numbers, auto license plates, and addresses if possible. It’s not a good idea to depend on the police to find witnesses because the primary interests of police officers are to assist injured motorists and to restore normal traffic flow.
